Richard “Rick” Russo, CPIA

Rick Russo joined Lykes Insurance in 1998. After beginning his insurance career in 1982 in Personal Lines, he moved to Employee Benefits in 1985. He and his father founded Dahlia Corporation in 1987, where he managed both the Employee Benefits and Personal Lines departments. By 1991 he was handling Property & Casualty, Surety and Employee Benefits for commercial accounts, along with managing the internal staff. During his career he has been involved in all aspects of agency operations. This includes participation in more than 20 mergers and acquisitions of agencies as well as building successful marketing, service and sales departments. A Certified Professional Insurance Agent, he attended the University of Tampa.
Russo is past president and board member of Independent Insurance Agents of Greater Tampa and a member of Florida Association of Insurance Agents, where he served on the Sales/Marketing and Finance committees. He is a member of Associated Builders and Contractors, Florida Transportation Builders Association and Florida Utility Contractors Association. Active in the Tampa-area community, he is past president and current board member of the West Tampa Chamber of Commerce, past board member of West Coast Hispanic Business Initiative Fund and a graduate of Leadership Brandon. He currently serves as president and board member of the Angela M. Russo Foundation and the board member of Salesian Sisters/Boys & Girls Youth Center, as well as past member of the Jesuit High School Foundation Board.
