DATE: Tuesday, February 23rd: Session runs from 8:00 to 10:00 am
Continental breakfast and sign in starts at 7:30 am.
2017 marks the 10th year of the Lykes Insurance Learning Series: Excelleration™ and is brought to our community as timely education events to help businesses excel. With awareness comes opportunity for action.
The February event will focus on the topic of Distracted Driving. This is a serious subject with growing financial impact on businesses through automobile insurance loss experience and premium. If you have employees driving on your behalf (in company or personal vehicles), you are at risk for liability arising out of distracted driving. Statistics are alarming, and insurance carriers are confronting the risk with higher rates and restrictive underwriting. In response, businesses must be intentional and strategic in facing this new reality.
Our discussion topics in this Excelleration™ will include a reality check of the trend and consequences of distracted driving, a review of cur-rent and proposed laws regarding distracted driving, insurance company considerations of the exposure, and meaningful action businesses can take through automobile risk control programs and technology.
